Features

What makes this calculator different

Most answer key tools show one institute. Koach shows all of them — and flags where they disagree.

Official UPSC key + all institutes

Now includes the UPSC Official Answer Key (provisional) alongside coaching institute keys — all in one view. The official key is pinned at the top.

Normal vs optimistic score

Normal score counts matched answers only. Optimistic score awards full marks on disputed questions — since UPSC sometimes marks them correct for all.

Disputed question detection

See exactly which questions are disputed — where institutes disagree. These are most likely to be awarded to all by UPSC.

Question-by-question review

Expand any institute card for a full breakdown of correct, wrong, blank, and disputed questions. Works for both GS Paper 1 and CSAT Paper 2.

All sets supported (A, B, C, D)

Select your set and the calculator maps your answers to the correct key automatically, even when an institute only published Set A.

Saved attempt

Your answers are saved to your account. Come back when more institute keys are uploaded — your score updates automatically.

Disputed questions

When institutes disagree

Every year, several UPSC Prelims questions are disputed — different coaching institutes give different correct answers. This happens when a question is ambiguous, poorly worded, or contested on factual grounds.

UPSC sometimes responds by awarding full marks to all candidates on such questions, regardless of what they marked. This can swing your score by several marks.

Koach shows you exactly which questions are disputed and calculates an optimistic score — assuming UPSC awards marks to all on disputed questions. Your actual score will land between normal and optimistic.

Example — Question 47

Forum IAS
B
PW Only IAS
Cdiffers
Study IQ IAS
B
ThinQ IAS

This question is flagged as disputed. If you attempted it, it counts as correct in your optimistic score.
