Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Koach collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Koach website, applications, APIs, and related services.

Koach is an AI-powered exam preparation platform focused on UPSC and other competitive exams, including mock practice, analytics, mentor chat, current affairs quizzes, book uploads, revision planning, challenge mode, shared tests, and syllabus tracking.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use product features. This may include your learner name, email address, password, exam preferences, topic selections, messages, notes, bookmarks, and content you upload.

We also collect study and usage data generated through the platform, such as practice answers, evaluation reports, streaks, revision tasks, mentor history, challenge participation, syllabus progress, current affairs attempts, and uploaded PDF metadata.

  • Account data such as learner name, email address, login sessions, and authentication identifiers.
  • Study data such as practice sessions, scores, weak areas, revision plans, calendar items, notes, bookmarks, and error-book entries.
  • Interactive content such as mentor messages, book-chat prompts, challenge answers, and support or contact messages.
  • Uploaded content such as PDF books and any text, images, or files submitted to generate quizzes or learning outputs.
  • Device push notification tokens used to deliver push notifications to your mobile device.
  • Technical data such as device, browser, approximate location, request logs, and security information needed to operate and protect the service.

How We Use Information

We use your information to operate the service, authenticate your account, deliver personalized learning workflows, generate AI-based outputs, maintain history and analytics, and improve reliability, security, and performance.

  • Provide practice generation, evaluation, mentor chat, current affairs, PYQ, challenge, mains, snap quiz, and book-chat features.
  • Save your study history, progress, notes, bookmarks, revision queue, calendar plan, and analytics dashboard.
  • Send push notifications related to daily quizzes, streaks, challenge results, and study reminders.
  • Detect misuse, secure accounts, rate-limit traffic, debug failures, and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.
  • Communicate important service, legal, security, or support information.
  • Measure product quality and improve features, prompts, reliability, and user experience.

AI Processing

Some Koach features rely on third-party AI services to generate questions, evaluate answers, answer doubts, provide mentor responses, summarize content, or process uploaded materials. To provide those features, relevant prompts and context may be sent to those providers.

AI-generated output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated. You should review important academic, factual, or strategic conclusions independently before relying on them.

Infrastructure And Service Providers

Koach uses third-party infrastructure and technical service providers for hosting, data storage, authentication, caching, analytics, AI processing, file handling, payments, session monitoring, and push notification delivery. These providers may process information on our behalf only as needed to deliver the service.

Current services and infrastructure used by the platform include:

  • Firebase (Google) — authentication, including Google Sign-In, and realtime database storage of user accounts, study data, and push notification tokens.
  • OpenAI — AI question generation, answer evaluation, mentor responses, and content processing.
  • Razorpay — payment processing for subscriptions and plan purchases. Payment details are handled directly by Razorpay and are not stored by Koach.
  • Expo and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) / Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) — delivery of push notifications to mobile devices.
  • LogRocket — session recording and error monitoring. LogRocket may record user interactions, network requests, console output, and errors to help diagnose issues and improve the product. Your name, email, and user identifier may be associated with recorded sessions. For more information, see LogRocket's privacy policy.
  • Vercel and hosting infrastructure — frontend deployment and serverless function execution.
  • Redis — short-term caching of API responses and authentication state.

Session Recording

Koach uses LogRocket, a session recording and error-monitoring service, to help diagnose technical issues and improve product quality. LogRocket may record page interactions, network activity, console output, and application errors during your session.

Your learner name, email address, and user identifier are associated with recorded sessions to make it possible to investigate account-specific issues. LogRocket data is used solely for debugging, error diagnosis, and product improvement. It is not sold or used for advertising.

If you prefer not to have your session recorded, you may contact us at [email protected] to discuss available options.

Push Notifications

If you use the Koach mobile application and grant notification permissions, we collect and store a device push token to deliver notifications. These tokens are used to send you study reminders, streak alerts, daily current affairs notifications, challenge results, and other product-related updates.

Push notifications are delivered via Expo's push notification service, which routes to Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android and Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) on iOS. Your device token may be processed by these services to complete delivery.

You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.

Cookies And Local Storage

Koach uses browser storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember view state, preserve session context, and improve performance. Authentication data and some interface state are stored in local browser storage and session storage.

If you clear browser storage, some saved session or view preferences may be removed and you may need to sign in again.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run the platform, with other users where a feature requires it, or when disclosure is necessary for legal, security, or enforcement reasons.

  • With infrastructure, AI, analytics, session recording, push notification, and payment providers that process data on our behalf.
  • With other users in challenge mode and shared tests, where your learner name, score, and participation data are visible to match participants and the test creator.
  • With law enforcement, regulators, or professional advisers where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, or the integrity of the platform.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to applicable confidentiality and legal requirements.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain your account, preserve learning history and analytics, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or operational obligations.

Retention periods may vary by data type. Some cached or log data may be deleted sooner, while account and study records may remain until your account is deleted or the data is no longer required for legitimate business or legal purposes.

Security

Koach uses technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including access controls, rate limits, signed auth sessions, and security-focused middleware. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your Choices

  • You may update certain account or study information inside the product where those controls are available.
  • You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings.
  • You may stop using the service at any time.
  • You may contact us to request account deletion, privacy assistance, or information about session recording.
  • You may avoid uploading content you do not want processed by the service or its providers.

Children

Koach is intended for students and learners, but it is not directed to children who are not legally permitted to use online services independently in their jurisdiction. If you are a minor, please use the service with appropriate parental or guardian involvement where required by law.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, operational needs, legal requirements, or security practices. When we make material changes, we may update the effective date on this page and take additional steps if required.
