Indian Polity — Laxmikanth.pdf

What does this NCERT say about the Directive Principles of State Policy?
According to the document, DPSPs are contained in Part IV (Articles 36–51) of the Constitution. They are non-justiciable — courts cannot enforce them — but they are fundamental to governance. The text distinguishes them from Fundamental Rights by noting that FRs are negative obligations on the State, while DPSPs are positive obligations.
Indian Polity — Laxmikanth, p. 7.3
Are there any exceptions to this non-justiciable rule?
The document mentions that while DPSPs themselves aren't enforceable, laws made to implement them receive constitutional protection. Article 31C (added by the 25th Amendment) shields laws giving effect to Articles 39(b) and (c) from FR challenges — a key exception the text highlights for exam purposes.
